Add companies to your portfolio in batch.

Purpose: Easily populate a portfolio with relevant companies by importing a list from a CSV file. This feature allows you to monitor numerous companies efficiently without adding each one manually.

Step 1: Create Your CSV File

  1. Open a spreadsheet application (e.g., Excel).

  2. In the first row, create a column labeled “Company” to list each company’s name.

  3. Ensure that there are no spaces in column headers (e.g., avoid "Company ").

  4. Save the file as a CSV format to ensure compatibility.

Step 2: Create a New Portfolio

  1. Log into Business Radar, then go to the "Portfolios" tab.

  2. Click "Create New Portfolio" and give it a descriptive name.

  3. Save the portfolio to use it as a target for your import.

Step 3: Import Companies

  1. Open the newly created portfolio and select the “Import Companies” option.

  2. Upload your CSV file by choosing "Import from CSV."

  3. Map the “Company” column from your CSV to the appropriate field in Business Radar.

    • Ensure that the field has no spaces or extra characters for accurate mapping.

  4. Confirm the mapping and initiate the import.

Step 4: Loading and Searching

  1. Business Radar will begin processing the imported companies.

  2. Once complete, the platform will search its extensive archive, gathering each company’s information, such as:

    • Legal records.

    • Financial status.

    • Compliance history.

Tips for a Successful Upload

If you decide to try the upload, here are some additional tips to ensure success:

  1. Country Code Requirements:

    • The company’s country must be listed in ISO format (e.g., DE, NL, GB, FR).

    • If a DUNS number is not provided, the system uses the country field to narrow its search. Without the correct ISO code, the system cannot match the company.

    • Common Mistake: Listing the UK as "UK" instead of GB.

  2. DUNS Numbers:

    • If DUNS numbers are included in the file, make sure they are formatted correctly.

    • Remove any dashes or extra characters (e.g., "12-345-6789" should be "123456789").

  3. Fallback Matching Without DUNS Numbers:

    • When no DUNS number is provided, the system relies on the country and company name.

    • Ensure the company name is spelled exactly as it appears in official records.

      • Example of a common issue:

        • Correct: THE GO-AHEAD GROUP LIMITED

        • Incorrect: THE GOAHED GROUP LIMITED

    • Any inaccuracies in the name can result in unmatched companies.

  4. Reviewing Unmatched Companies:

    • If you encounter unmatched companies, review the upload results and correct the names or details in your system.

    • Once the upload is finished, you will receive a report including companies that could not be found. We are also happy to help you with additional information.

Final Tips

  • Avoid adding extra spaces or characters in column headers to prevent mapping issues.

  • Regularly update your portfolio by refining filters or re-uploading corrected information.

This streamlined process enables quick setup and accurate monitoring of all your target companies in Business Radar. By following these tips, you can ensure a successful batch upload and maximize the effectiveness of your portfolio monitoring.
