Understanding the Company Page in Business Radar
Last updated View as Markdown
1. Accessing the Company Page
To open a company page, use the search bar or browse the Companies tab to find the company.
In the results, the colour of the company name tells you its status:
Black — the company is registered in Business Radar and you can open its company page.
Grey — the company is known but not yet loaded. Click the name to load it. Loading takes a few minutes, and in the meantime you can already open the placeholder that is created for the company. Once loading finishes, the name turns black.
Not listed at all — the company isn't in Business Radar yet and can be added. See Can't find a company? for how to request it.
2. Key features of the Company Page
A company page has five tabs: About, News Articles, Directors, Compliance and Corporate Linkage.
2.1 About
The About tab brings together the company's identifying details and a view of how it has been covered in the news.
Company details include the D&B number, the LEI (Legal Entity Identifier) where available, address, founding date, industry classifications, website, and national identifiers such as the VAT number, trade register number and branch unit number. It also shows the company's position in its corporate structure through its Global Ultimate and Domestic Ultimate parent companies.
Alongside this you can see how the company has been mentioned in the news over the last week, month or year, including a sentiment analysis of recently published articles, a key events timeline, and breakdowns of legal and compliance and of financial performance coverage.
When there are more than five articles in the period you selected, the news is also summarised. Summaries are tailored to your role, so the information shown aligns with your responsibilities and interests.
2.2 News Articles
This tab holds every article found for the company — for a large company that can run to tens of thousands. You can:
Search within the company's articles.
Filter by publication date, sentiment and other criteria, and apply filter sets you have saved.
Switch on Include subsidiaries to widen the view beyond the company itself.
Group related articles together with clustering, and switch between list and grid views.
Export the results.
Articles are tagged by category, for example Sponsorship Deal or Executive Speech.
2.3 Directors
The Directors tab lists the company's directors and board members, each with their role, such as Commissioner, and the source of the information.
2.4 Compliance
The Compliance tab shows the company's risk signal scores and the full screening result, including the entities screened — the company, its directors and its UBOs. See Risk Scoring for how the scores are calculated and what the result states mean.
2.5 Corporate Linkage
Corporate Linkage shows the company's position in its wider corporate network as an interactive diagram of parent and subsidiary companies, running up to the global ultimate parent. You can zoom, expand individual entities and change the layout, and each level shows how many entities sit beneath it.
3. How to adjust your role in Business Radar
Adjusting your role ensures the news summaries and company information are tailored to your specific needs.
Click your name in the top-right menu, open Settings and go to Details.
Fill in Function Role Description — a brief description of your role, for example "Financial Analyst".
Save your changes.
Your role determines how information is prioritised and displayed, making the Company Page more relevant to your work.
4. Tips for getting the most out of the Company Page
Filter news: use filters to focus on specific time periods, risk categories or regions, and save the filter sets you use often.
Add entities to a screening: if additional individuals or entities need to be screened, add them from the Compliance tab using Entity.
Check company updates: revisit company pages periodically to ensure you're working with the most current data.
5. Troubleshooting and common questions
Why is the company name grey?
A grey name means the company is not yet loaded into Business Radar. Click the name to load it. Loading takes a few minutes, and you can already open the placeholder that is created in the meantime.
The company doesn't appear in the search results at all.
It isn't in Business Radar yet. You can request it — see Can't find a company?.
Can I customise the news summaries?
Yes. Summaries are generated based on the time period and your role settings. Adjust your role and filters to refine what is shown.
Why is no summary appearing in the About section?
There may be fewer than five articles for the time frame you chose. At least five articles are needed to generate a summary, so try widening the period.
